Most of the students come from extremely poor backgrounds. Money is scarce and they have no land on which to grow crops.

With the help of their teachers, students come up with ingenious ideas on how to make the best use of the few resources available.  Some of these are :

Storey Garden:

This is a method of planting where vegetables can be grown with little or no land available. All that is needed is a sack , soil and the seedlings. The soil is put into the sack and the seedlings planted and watered. The sack is then perforated and from there the kales grow.

Bags from bark

The students make bags for sale using the bark from banana trees.
